Installation Guide

SKUs affected: MMRAD-WRA-87

Common Installation Questions:

1. Transmission line fittings will not thread into Mishimoto radiator. While this is considered uncommon, Jeep offered a variety of transmission line fittings throughout the years of the Wrangler.  Most all of them will require a hose and push on fitting. (See attachment #1). Some customers may note that there are no rubber hoses connecting the lines to the radiator and have hard steel lines going all the way to the radiator (See attachment #2). The supplied Mishimoto fittings will not assist with transmission line installation.

Solutions:

1. Unfortunately, there is no solution for this. We ask for the customer to bend the hard lines back towards the engine slightly, clamp a hose onto the line and have it reach the Mishimoto radiator. Some customers have found that cutting the hard line is easier than bending.  Another solution would be for the customer to convert to an external transmission cooler such as MMTC-U.  Mishimoto suggests using a rubber hose to connect the radiator to  the hard line to allow for engine movement.
